Education? Not so much.

Unfortunately, this paper isn't really online, but Marilyn Musgrave just had a bizarre interview with the Fort Collins Weekly.
. . . a recent interview with Musgrave, who telephoned from Washington D.C., was cut short when she had to attend to other matters. Although the Fort Collins Weekly offered to continue the interview at another time to allow her to more fully highlight her accomplishments, Musgrave never called back.
Since Musgrave sits on the Education Committee, her "accomplishments" here are particularly noteworthy:
For one thing, despite having strong feelings about education--she is married to a schoolteacher and has served on local school boards as well as the House Education Committee--she can't immediately name anything she's done for schools in her time in Congress.
"I'm not thinking of anything on the federal level right now, I'm sorry, " she says when asked what she's done to reduce the impact of the federal No Child Left Behind Act on rual schools even thouh she says she favors more flexibility in the law."

District 4’s marbled meat mother Marilyn Musgrave has announced a fundraising dinner in the Washington D.C area June 16th. And oh what fun it will be, with recommended contributions of $1000-$2000 it better come with a change of pants!

The question that always comes to my mind when an elected official holds a fundraiser out of state is, who is going to attend? Certainly not very many constituents from her district are gassing up at $3.00/gl. to travel 3 days for a $1000 lunch. So maybe those D.C area cats with special interests will show support?

Rep. Musgrave, Charlie Palmer’s offers a fabulous roasted Hudson Valley foie gras with a granny Smith apple tarte tatin and red delicious apple butter on their menu for just $21.

Wingnut Alert

Folks, go check out the Muskrat Hunter, who's posting a couple local pictures of one of the local bigots. With folks like this "saving" marriage, it's giving the "institution" a bad rep.

And this comes just after the Hunter exposed the Ku Klux Klan's raving endorsement of Marilyn Musgrave.
